WICFF Closing Celebrations + Short Films + Pressure + Art + After Party
About
A closing-day celebration for the Windrush International Caribbean Film Festival with short films, a 50th-anniversary screening of Pressure and a Q&A.
The Windrush International Caribbean Film Festival's closing day marks 50 years of Horace Ové's Pressure, widely recognised as the UK's first Black dramatic feature-length film, following three Windrush generations in Britain. The afternoon opens with short films — Sausage Rolls & Jollof Rice by Benjamin Turner, Tambu by Laurie Lambert and Ugly. Afro Hair by Chinwe Kalu Uma — before the Pressure anniversary screening at 4:30pm. Artist Zac Ové appears as a special guest to speak about his father's legacy and his own work, in a programme hosted by ALT A REVIEW and PemPeople with networking, Black-owned business stalls and food.
