Concert: Royal Philharmonic Orchestra: Against the Tide

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performs Mendelssohn, Adams, Maconchy and Fauré at Lancaster University's Great Hall, conducted by Michael Poll.

Lancaster Arts presents the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in their 80th anniversary year, performing a programme of intimate works rather than large-scale romanticism. The concert includes the European premiere of Byron Adams' Cello Concerto with soloist Simon Tetzlaff, alongside Mendelssohn's Die Schoene Melusine, Maconchy's Variazioni Concertanti and Fauré's Pelléas et Mélisande Suite. Michael Poll conducts the 92-minute evening at the Great Hall.
