Handel - Messiah

A chamber-scale performance of Handel's Messiah with 14 singers, step-out soloists and a baroque orchestra at St Mary's Church, Beverley.

The Tallis Choral Foundation performs Handel's Messiah in a chamber-scale version, aiming to recreate the intimacy of the composer's own performances rather than the large choral-society renditions popular in the twentieth century. The performance features period instruments from Baroque in the North, including harpsichord continuo, period timpani and trumpets, with soloists stepping out from within the chorus. The event runs for around three and a half hours, with doors at 5:30 PM and unrestricted seating.
