The Norfolk Lights Express: Around the World

The Norfolk Lights Express is a steam-hauled evening train on the North Norfolk Railway, illuminated by thousands of tiny lights. Passengers travel from Sheringham to Holt and back while on-board lighting casts changing colours over the countryside, with lit displays along the route accompanied by narration and music. For 2026 the theme is 'Around the World', featuring eight global celebrations including the Netherlands' Tulip Festival, Diwali and Christmas; trains between 14–29 November and 29 December–3 January carry a party soundtrack on the return, while trains from 3–28 December have a festive return journey.
