About

A seminar exploring poetry, the historical novel and comics as forms of medievalist critical engagement, with three maker-speakers.

Dr Laura Varnam chairs the Michaelmas Term seminar of the John Fell funded project 'Creating Medieval Criticism Now'. Poet Susie Campbell, writer Nik Gunn and cartoonist and illustrator Esther McManus, all members of the Guild of Medievalist Makers, discuss the benefits and challenges of their creative practices as modes of critical engagement with the Middle Ages today. The session runs from 5pm to 6.30pm in the Goodhart Seminar Room.
