About
A citizen-science fishing day at Furnace Brook lake where anglers record their catches to help monitor fish populations during ecological restoration.
Furnace Brook invites environmentally minded anglers to spend a day fishing at its lake in the High Weald, recording everything they catch to help monitor fish populations. The data will support an ecological restoration programme following a 2024 pollution incident that collapsed the lake's ecosystem. The farm's taproom will be open afterwards, and participants must hold a valid fishing licence and book in advance.
