About
Gary Clarke Company's award-winning dance theatre show COAL returns in 2027, exploring life in the coalfields and the legacy of the miners' strike.
Gary Clarke Company revives its multi-award-winning dance theatre show COAL, originally created to mark the 30th anniversary of the 1984/85 British Miners' Strike. The piece combines highly physical choreography from seven professional dancers, a local community cast of women and a live brass band to explore the realities of life in the coalfields and the demands on a working-class mining community. The production runs 1hr 30mins with no interval and is recommended for ages 12+.
