Tenebrae Effect Workshop

A choral singing workshop led by Tenebrae's Artistic Director Nigel Short, exploring the choir's vocal techniques through Renaissance repertoire.

Nigel Short, Artistic Director of Tenebrae, leads a two-hour workshop in Haileybury School Chapel on how the choir creates its distinctive choral sound. Participants work on music by Lassus, Gibbons and Byrd — Musica Dei Donum, Drop, Drop Slow Tears and Sing Joyfully — covering vocal techniques behind Tenebrae's 'Passion & Precision' approach. Sheet music is provided and participants are encouraged to prepare it in advance. Ticket holders may also observe the first 30 minutes of Tenebrae's rehearsal from 3:00PM and join in singing Gibbons' Drop, Drop Slow Tears.
