Croydon's Music Heritage Trail: Black History Guided Tour
About
A free guided walking tour celebrating Croydon's Black musical heritage, from Stormzy's plaque in Thornton Heath to Avril Coleridge-Taylor's commemoration in Dagnall Park.
This guided walk, first launched as part of the London Borough of Culture 2023 programme, explores the stories of Black artists, musicians and changemakers connected to Croydon. The tour begins outside Thornton Heath Library at a plaque dedicated to Stormzy and finishes at the site commemorating Avril Coleridge-Taylor in Dagnall Park, lasting approximately 80 minutes. Participants should wear comfortable shoes and expect a steady walking pace with some changes in level; spaces are limited and free places must be booked via Eventbrite.
