About
The Fitzwilliam String Quartet performs Mozart, Beethoven and a new Peter Fribbins work inspired by Dowland's Lachrymae at Clare Hall, Cambridge.
The Fitzwilliam String Quartet gives a 90-minute concert pairing Mozart's Quartet in F K.590 with Beethoven's final quartet, Op. 135. Between them comes a new work by Peter Fribbins, based on Dowland's Lachrymae and its meditation on loss and longing. The programme moves from Mozart's youthful elegance to the intimate, playful and profound world of late Beethoven.
