From the First Hackney Marsh Fun Festival to the last Hackney Carnival: An Exhibition to celebrate 50 years of Chats Palace

A photo exhibition connects Chats Palace’s origins in the 1974 Hackney Marsh Fun Festival with images from the final Hackney Carnival in 2024.

Hackney photographer Neil Martinson’s images trace fifty years between the festival that helped inspire Chats Palace and the final Hackney Carnival. The exhibition runs from 9 September through 1 November 2026, with published visiting hours on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, 11:00–15:00.
