The Battle of Stoke Field Site Tour

A guided two-hour walking tour of the battlefield site of the Battle of Stoke Field, the last major battle of the Wars of the Roses, led by Andrew Fearn.

This guided walk explores the site of the Battle of East Stoke of 1487, the last major battle of the Wars of the Roses. Led by local history enthusiast Andrew Fearn, the tour covers terrain ranging from road to track and field margins, so a reasonable level of fitness and mobility is needed. Participants meet at 14:00 at the Women's Institute building in East Stoke; the connection to St Mary's Church, where Henry VII is said to have taken mass after the battle, is also part of the story.
