A 1950's Christmas
About
Buckland Abbey's Great Barn and house are transformed into a 1950s Christmas wonderland with festive trees, Father Christmas' sleigh and period decorations.
Buckland Abbey marks the festive season with a 1950s-themed Christmas display running from late November to early January. The Great Barn features festive trees, Father Christmas' sleigh pulled by a reindeer, chestnuts roasting on an open fire and the tallest Christmas tree at the end of the barn. The Abbey itself is decorated in 1950s style with paper chains, tinsel and period music, with toys and games of the era to discover and a handmade cascade display on the Georgian Staircase. Historic Cooks join on 12th and 13th December for a 1950s-inspired Christmas celebration.
