Festive | Christmas Lights Switch on & Lantern Parade

Knutsford's free Christmas lights switch-on features a lantern parade, Santa's arrival, and an afternoon of live entertainment in Canute Place.

The switch-on is preceded by an afternoon of live entertainment from local musicians, dance troupes, performers and choirs. A highlight is Santa's arrival through the town before he heads into Canute Place to greet his fans. The 2026 event also sees the return of the much-loved Lantern Parade, with the public invited to make their own lanterns and take part. The Mayor of Knutsford is then joined by Santa and special guests to light up the town for the festive season.
