About

Keith Allen stars as ITV’s Controller of Comedy in a play about Benny Hill facing a changing television world.

Set in 1989, Jonathan Maitland’s play stages a tense meeting between Benny Hill and ITV’s Controller of Comedy, where Hill encounters a feminist secretary and an angry young comedian. Published running time is 1 hour 55 minutes including the interval. The production carries a warning for discriminatory language and attitudes of the period.
