"Rough Magic- Winter Solstice" Fireside Story Telling for Adults

Oral storyteller Bernadette Russell hosts an adults-only evening of fireside storytelling and Winter Solstice celebration in Lesnes Abbey Wood.

Storyteller-in-residence at Lesnes Abbey Lodge, Bernadette Russell leads an evening of fireside storytelling for adults to mark the Winter Solstice. Gathered around a roaring fire in The Clearing, an outdoor learning space in Lesnes Abbey Wood, she tells new tales of bear gods, fox spirits, transformations, ice, alchemy and Jack Frost. The evening includes time to chat, optional participation in the stories, a co-created ritual honouring winter, candle-lighting to welcome the return of the sun, and a Yule gift for each attendee. The event runs two and a half hours, is for ages 16+, and attendees meet at the Chestnut Kiosk at 6.30pm to walk down together before stories begin at 7pm.
