The 2026 Rick Mather Lecture: Worofila
About
Senegalese architecture practice Worofila delivers the 2026 Rick Mather Lecture on bioclimatic, sustainable architecture in Dakar.
The Dakar-based practice Worofila, led by Nzinga Mboup and Nicolas Rondet, presents this year's Rick Mather Lecture, which celebrates architects making important contributions to thinking about sustainability. The practice creates bioclimatic architecture based around local, non-polluting materials, ancestral knowledge and democratic systems of construction and maintenance. The lecture coincides with the publication of Ecosystems: A Contemporary African Architecture (MACK), a survey of Worofila's work spanning housing, infrastructure, public institutions, and spaces for training and experimentation.
