The Aris String Quartet gives a BBC Radio 3 lunchtime concert pairing two Beethoven works: the dark, stormy String Quartet No 4 in C minor Op 18 No 4 and the String Quartet No 8 in E minor Op 59 No 2, 'Razumovsky'. The programme continues the 'Razumovsky' series marking the 200th anniversary of Beethoven's death, with the epic Op 59 No 2 featuring a 'starry' slow movement, Russian-themed scherzo and thrilling finale. The concert will finish at approximately 1.35pm and will be recorded for future broadcast on BBC Radio 3. It is recommended for ages 12+.
