Woodblock Printing with Martin Brockman

A full-day woodblock printing workshop with Martin Brockman exploring Sussex landscape imagery, from design to printing.

This one-day workshop with Martin Brockman explores the fauna, flora and folk imagery of the Sussex landscape. Participants walk through the exhibition and gather drawings and words, then draw a design onto a wood panel and are guided through cutting the block. The day finishes with printing several copies on a variety of grounds, from Japanese papers to cloth. It is designed for ages 13 and up, runs about six hours, and all materials and equipment are provided.
