The Monkey

A comedy-theatre show about a man's job interview spiralling into anxiety, embodied by a monkey that terrorises the waiting room.

The Monkey is a comedy-theatre piece set in the waiting room of a corporate office, where a man awaiting a life-changing job interview is haunted by his own spiralling thoughts, which take the form of a monkey that terrorises the stage. The show explores anxiety, depression, panic attacks and toxic ideals of masculinity through a comedic lens, confronting the stigma around male fragility and encouraging men to speak openly about their feelings. It plays a single performance in the Main House Cabaret at Pleasance London.
