General Public Guided Tours of New Lanark

A one-hour guided walk through New Lanark’s 240-year story, from its founders and workers’ welfare experiments to the lives of mill workers, teachers, paupers, soldiers, female doctors, inventors and displaced Highlanders.

Guided tours explore the founding of New Lanark, its approach to workers’ welfare and the lives of the people who lived in the mill village. The current booking programme offers Saturday and Sunday tours at 14:00, lasting one hour, from Visitor Attraction Reception. Choose a tour-only ticket or combine it with general admission.
