Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters

Paul Schrader’s film interweaves Yukio Mishima’s final day with memories and stylised scenes from his fiction.

Ken Ogata plays the Japanese author in Paul Schrader’s 1985 portrait, which moves between Mishima’s last day, episodes from his past and dramatisations of his writing. The Criterion Collection identifies the film as a 1985 Paul Schrader work starring Ken Ogata.
