Rautio Trio: Patronage and Influence - From Marianne Martines to Beethoven’s Archduke
About
The Rautio Trio performs Haydn, Marianne von Martines and Beethoven's Archduke Trio in a programme on 18th-century Viennese patronage.
The Rautio Trio — Jan Rautio, Jane Gordon and Victoria Simonsen — present a programme exploring eighteenth-century artistic patronage in Vienna, from Haydn through to Beethoven. The works include Haydn's Piano Trio in E-flat Hob. XV:22, Marianne von Martines' Symphony in C in a transcription by Jan Rautio, and Beethoven's Piano Trio in B-flat Op.97 'Archduke'. The concert lasts approximately two hours including a 20-minute interval, and features a Graf fortepiano hired from Wigmore Hall with support from the Continuo Foundation.
