Lundahl & Seitl: The Earths Within Us
About
A 25-minute headphone-led embodied performance by Lundahl & Seitl at Swedenborg House, exploring rivers lost beneath London and Swedenborg's idea of correspondences.
The Earths Within Us (2026) is a site-sensitive commission by Swedish artist duo Lundahl & Seitl, staged throughout November at Swedenborg House. Wearing wireless headphones and sightless goggles, visitors are led for 25 minutes by unseen hands through a soundscape of water, stone and voice, with choral drones echoing the rivers buried beneath London. The work extends from the duo's River Biographies and draws on Emanuel Swedenborg's concept of correspondences between material and spiritual worlds. The run also includes Words Dissolved By Tears (2026), the artists' first sculptural work — a glass disc bearing an invisible micro-relief of crystallized water — visible only during the performance, and is accompanied by a new book edited by Devin Zuber.
