About

A survey of Tove Jansson’s illustration brings her family and cultural circle into focus, alongside rare drawings, paintings, photographs and early Moomin works.

This exhibition examines the personal relationships that shaped Finnish author-illustrator Tove Jansson’s life and work. It includes previously unseen drawings, rarely shown sketches and paintings, original work related to the Moomins, photographs and a mural shown in the UK for the first time. The display also follows Jansson’s early illustration work and her post-war public art.
