About
A free screening of Zachary Drucker's film Enigma about April Ashley and Amanda Lear for Transgender Day of Remembrance, followed by a walk to Ford Cemetery.
To mark Transgender Day of Remembrance, Crosby Library hosts a free screening of Zachary Drucker's Enigma (2025), which explores the life and legacy of Liverpool transgender icon April Ashley alongside the parallel life of Amanda Lear, the 'European Queen of Disco'. The screening is followed by clips from Tim Brunsden's video archive of April, digitised as part of the Playback project. Afterwards attendees walk around 1.5 miles to Ford Cemetery in Litherland to pay respects at April's grave. Doors open at 12:30, the film runs 1:00–2:30, and the walk takes place 2:45–4:00.
