Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra festival XVIII: Night 3

The final night of GIOfest XVIII brings guest improvisers Rie Nakajima, Corey Mwamba, Rob Burke and Anna Kaluza together with Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra.

GIOfest XVIII, the annual festival of Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra, culminates in a closing concert at the University of Glasgow Concert Hall. The orchestra is joined by four guest artists whose practices span sound sculpture, contemporary jazz, electronics, percussion and saxophone. Rie Nakajima builds performances from motorised devices and everyday objects, Corey Mwamba works with vibraphone, dulcimer and electronics, Rob Burke is an experienced Australian improvising saxophonist, and Anna Kaluza completes the lineup. The evening runs for three hours of collective improvised music-making.
