About

An interactive solo show blending theatre, comedy and storytelling to explore the neurodivergent experience, part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival.

A Brief History of Neurodivergence is an interactive solo performance mixing theatre, comedy, storytelling and improvisation, created in response to negative media coverage of rising neurodivergence diagnoses. The performer invites the audience to play, draw, guess, vote and rewrite NHS mental health guidance, blending the scientific, historical, political and personal. Drawing on two decades of experience as a mental health patient, the 90-minute show covers neurodivergence, disability and mental illness. Ages 14+, with content notes for mental illness, suicide, grief, childhood trauma and eating disorders.
