Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella

New Adventures bring Matthew Bourne's 30th-anniversary production of Cinderella, a wartime love story set during the Blitz, to Liverpool Empire.

New Adventures return to Liverpool with the 30th Anniversary celebration of Matthew Bourne's Cinderella, a dance-theatre reimagining of the fairytale set in London during the Second World War. The story follows Cinderella and a dashing young RAF pilot who share a magical night together before being torn apart by the Blitz. The production features Lez Brotherston's Olivier Award-winning designs, lighting by Neil Austin, video by Duncan McLean and sound design by Paul Groothuis, set to Prokofiev's score. Performances run Tuesday to Saturday evenings with matinees on Thursday and Saturday; age guidance is 8+ due to depictions of bombing raids, haze, strobe lighting and loud noises.
