About

Lighthouse Theatre’s live radio play, The Chimes: Dickens on Air, follows ticket-porter Trotty Veck as mysterious church bells offer him a chance to change the world.

Set in Christmas 1950 in New York, this live radio play follows Trotty Veck, a ticket-porter whose life is ordered by the sound of his local church bells. Lighthouse Theatre brings its signature live radio play style to this classic by Charles Dickens, featuring jingles, carols, music, and bells. The production is a Victorian story filled with colourful characters and is presented in conjunction with Arts Council Wales.
