About
Fabiola Alondra discusses Mexica obsidian mirrors through Nahuatl passages recorded in the Florentine Codex and their translation history.
The presentation, titled “A wind like obsidian blows and glides over us…”, connects Mexica obsidian mirrors with a passage recorded by Nahua scholars and scribes in the Florentine Codex. It considers translation and the historical setting of this material within Alondra’s fellowship project, The Hauntings of Obsidian.
