Alasdair Roberts and Fredrick Rasten

Scottish folk musician Alasdair Roberts and Norwegian experimental musician Fredrik Rasten bring their duo album launch tour to Bishops' House.

Alasdair Roberts and Fredrik Rasten perform as a duo blending traditional Scottish and Norwegian music, folk song and microtonal minimalism. The concert forms part of a short launch tour for their forthcoming double album Seven Weathers on Drag City Records, which centres on traditional Scottish narrative ballads with slowly evolving musical materials supporting the storytelling. Both artists sing and play a variety of acoustic and electronic instruments, combining Roberts's unadorned vocal delivery with Rasten's just intonation tuning and timbral focus.
