Somerset Farmers' Markets runs a 24-pitch farmers' market section around the Market Cross at Frome's monthly street market, held on the first Sunday of the month.

On the first Sunday of each month from March to December, Frome's town centre closes to traffic for The Frome Independent, a large celebratory market with music, street theatre, activities and street food. Somerset Farmers' Markets organises the centrally located 24-pitch farmers' market section around the Market Cross, marked by green and white striped canopies, featuring local producers such as Feltham's Farm cheeses, Honey's Cider, The Loaf Shack and Godminster cheddar. The wider event also includes a flea market, new designers, crafts and vintage stalls. Trading hours are 10am to 3pm.
