About

Explore how Littlehampton changed from a fishing village into a seaside resort and trading harbour through local lives, family businesses and objects from the Museum’s collection.

The exhibition follows Littlehampton’s Victorian transformation through personal stories, contemporary accounts and collection objects. Visitors can explore local family businesses, try the hands-on Victorian sweet shop, learn about everyday life and the town’s harbour, and see Victorian art and Queen Victoria’s nightdress. A free family Rat Trail runs through the galleries over the same published dates, leading visitors to stories and activities along the way; children must remain with a parent or carer.
