The Metropolitan Opera 2026/27: Otello

The Metropolitan Opera presents Verdi's Shakespearean tragedy Otello, with music by Giuseppe Verdi and libretto by Arrigo Boito, screened in cinemas.

Giuseppe Verdi's monumental operatic take on Shakespeare, with a libretto by Arrigo Boito, is often regarded as the pinnacle of Italian opera. The Metropolitan Opera's staging stars dramatic tenor Brian Jagde in the demanding title role, with Ailyn Pérez making her company role debut as Desdemona and baritone Artur Ruciński as the scheming Iago. This event cinema presentation brings the New York company's production to UK screens.
