About
Gary Alderton presents a talk on his 55-year collection of First World War artefacts, sharing stories of the war and local people from Harleston and Diss.
Gary Alderton takes the audience through his personal collection of First World War artefacts, built up over 55 years of collecting. The talk explores everyday objects of WW1, including photographs, postcards, charity flags and local war memorials in Harleston and Diss, and the stories of local people whose lives were shaped by the war. It is aimed at anyone interested in local history, family history and the human stories behind the First World War. Profits are split equally between Alzheimer's Research UK and Wingfield Barns.
