Wildlife Friendly Bonfire Night at Mere Sands Wood
About
A family, dog and wildlife-friendly bonfire night with live acoustic music and refreshments, with no fireworks or loud rides.
The Lancashire Wildlife Trust hosts a quieter, traditional bonfire night at Mere Sands Wood, deliberately without fireworks or loud rides so it suits young children, people with sensory sensitivities and dogs. The bonfire is built from conservation byproducts and lit on an island beside the lake at 7pm, viewable from the café and outdoor seating areas. A local acoustic artist plays live music throughout, and the café and shop serve hot and cold refreshments and sweet treats. Arrival is from 5:30pm with carriages at 8pm; parking tickets must be booked in advance due to limited spaces.
