City Centre Christmas Lights Switch-On

Plymouth's annual Christmas lights switch-on returns to the Piazza with family entertainment, a 6.25pm countdown and a headline set from Land of the Giants.

Plymouth City Centre Company's annual Christmas Lights Switch-On takes place on the Piazza, with new displays including an illuminated canopy of nearly 20,000 energy-efficient LEDs and lights along the transformed Armada Way. Family-friendly stage performances from local dance, theatre and singing groups run from 4pm, before the Lord Mayor, Santa and pantomime guests from Theatre Royal Plymouth lead the countdown to the switch-on at 6.25pm. The evening closes with a performance from six-piece band Land of the Giants, blending funk, reggae, ska and rock. A 25ft real Christmas tree in Old Town Square provides a festive centrepiece.
