Acting Classes for LGBTQIA+ People
About
Weekly LGBTQIA+ acting classes led by Andrew Keates use performance exercises and queer material to build skills and a supportive community for performers at different experience levels.
The class uses acting techniques, improvisation, scripted scenes and devised queer stories, with participants sharing work in a supportive group. Andrew Keates is named as the teacher. Published start time is 19:00; the organiser says the usual finish is around 21:30 but some sessions run until 22:00, so no fixed end time is assumed. The current in-window schedule lists 25 Mondays from 12 October 2026 to 5 April 2027: 12 October at The Nell of Old Drury, 7–21 December at Omnibus Theatre, and the other listed dates at Two Brewers. At Two Brewers the class uses the Club Room; The Nell session is in its upstairs space, and Omnibus uses the upstairs rehearsal space. There is no class listed on 28 December. Access arrangements may differ by location and should be confirmed directly.
