About
Oliver Carter explores the writers, illustrators and dealers behind Soho’s illicit erotic-story booklets, using police files and newspaper reports.
A history talk for adults aged 18 and over about the handmade Soho Bibles sold from the 1950s onwards. Professor Oliver Carter examines their production, trade and police pursuit. A display of booklets from a recent Bishopsgate Institute donation accompanies the talk. Concessionary ticket holders may be asked for proof of eligibility; accessibility queries can be sent to the Institute.
