Ornament Unbound: Tissue Transferware Reframed
About
Contemporary ceramic and print artist Lisa Sheppy reimagines historic transfer printing through the Museum’s porcelain and archival collections.
Lisa Sheppy works from the perspective of an eighteenth-century engraver, bringing historic transfer printing into contemporary practice. The exhibition pairs her work with Worcester Porcelain collection pieces and archival material, including engraved copper plates and pattern books, to trace how ornament, technical innovation and ideas moved between printmaking and ceramic production. The exhibition is open 10 September 2026 to 21 February 2027 during museum visiting hours, except on the published October and November closure dates; December closures remain to be confirmed.
