The Whisperers + Live Introduction
About
A lonely older woman tries to protect her precarious life after her son’s visit brings stolen money and renewed family upheaval. Author Cathi Unsworth introduces this screening.
Mrs Margaret Ross survives on a narrow income in a boarding house, finding comfort in small routines and the help of Mr Conrad. When her son Charlie leaves money from a robbery, a cruel trick strips away the security she imagines it might offer; she is then reunited with her errant husband Archie. ArtHouse Crouch End lists a live introduction by author Cathi Unsworth before the screening. The cinema page gives a 106-minute film length, but no event end is published in the retained evidence.
