Listening to the Earth
About
A free group exhibition of ten artists who work with earth as subject and material, exploring drawing as a form of listening to the land.
This exhibition brings together an intergenerational group of ten artists who use the earth as both subject and material, working with dust, foraged natural pigments, ash, slate, photography and field recording. Taking prehistoric cave drawings made from earth-based pigments as its starting point, it argues for drawing as a practice of paying attention and a form of listening. The works reference specific places — from the Saudi desert and the Harappan landscapes of Punjab to South London's lost rivers, North Wales's slate mountains and Cornwall's abandoned mines. The exhibition is open Wednesday to Sunday, 12pm to 6pm, and closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
