Seaham Boxing Day Dip

A revived Boxing Day sea swim at Seaham Harbour Marina where up to 250 participants brave the waves in fancy dress to raise money for charity.

The Seaham Boxing Day Dip returns after several years away, offering 250 ticketed participants a professionally organised festive swim at Seaham Marina. Registration opens at 9am, warm-up at 9:45am, with the dip itself at 10am and the sea cleared by 10:20am. Swimmers receive a medal and goodie bag, can dress up for the occasion, and swim within a designated zone under full in-water and shoreline safety cover, with conditions assessed by a qualified oceanographer beforehand. Profits from ticket sales go to the RNLI and Seaham Coastguard, and the event is for ages 12 and over.
