A Halloween half-term event at Harecastle Tunnel with themed activities and a spooky 30-minute boat trip through the historic tunnel.
The Canal & River Trust's annual Halloween event at Harecastle Tunnel features a decorated site with face painting, a spooky graveyard, a monster coconut shy, a children's quiz trail and photo opportunities. The centrepiece is a 30-minute trip boat journey through the 1.7-mile historic tunnel between Tunstall and Kidsgrove, with minibus transfers so visitors start and finish at the South Portal. The outdoor event runs over half term, with refreshments on sale and warm clothing advised for the cold, damp tunnel.
