A Private View of Lace & Legacy: Fashion Treasures from the Blackborne Collection
About
An opening-evening private view of Lace & Legacy, beginning with a three-course dinner in Café Bowes and curator talks on the Blackborne lace collection before guests explore the exhibition ahead of its public opening.
Rachel Whitworth, Curator of Fashion & Textiles at The Bowes Museum, and Brooke Stephens, a PhD student at Northumbria University undertaking the first comprehensive study of the Blackborne Lace Collection, discuss the collection's history and global significance. The evening marks 20 years since Fine & Fashionable: Lace from The Blackborne Collection and includes a private view of selected pieces before the exhibition opens to the public. Places are limited and advance booking is required; dietary and access requirements can be sent to the events team.
