Public Open Evenings

Explore the planets and universe at a public observing evening, with telescope viewing, an illustrated astronomy talk and refreshments.

At the observatory, visitors take part in a safety presentation and use the group’s telescopes and binoculars to observe the night sky. If weather prevents observing, the programme switches to a telescope tour and talk, and guests may return on a later evening to complete observing. The programme follows seasonal sky targets; April 10 and 11 are adults-only evenings. Child tickets are available from age eight.
