Terrific Tapestries
About
An exhibition at Knutsford Heritage Centre showcasing the 40ft Knutsford Millennium Tapestry alongside a British Museum display on the Bayeux Tapestry.
The Terrific Tapestries exhibition at Knutsford Heritage Centre displays the 40ft Knutsford Millennium Tapestry, made of 6,500,000 stitches across three panels with contributions from 3,000 townspeople, capturing life in Knutsford in the year 2000. Visitors can explore the stories of both the Knutsford and Bayeux tapestries, made nearly 1,000 years apart, learning who commissioned and produced them and what they are made of. A British Museum display features images and videos of the Bayeux Tapestry on a new interactive kiosk plus a printed display.
