Young V&A Family Play: Saturdays and After School
About
Families join Young V&A's Play Champions for rotating games, design, construction and storytelling activities across the museum's galleries.
Part of Young V&A's Power of Play programme, these free family sessions offer changing gallery activities led by Play Champions. Saturday sessions run 13:30–15:30; on 17 October, chess teacher Satnam Sokhal joins the team with ordinary and giant chess sets and an early-years play kit. Published Thursday and Friday after-school sessions run 15:30–17:00 and rotate between design challenges, construction play, storytelling with props and costumes, and a pop-up board-game café. Play Champions advise families which gallery hosts each activity. Adults participate alongside their children; some design challenges suit children aged two and over.
