Eucaristía
About
Catalan company BROTS (uTOpia Barcelona), actors with lived experience of mental-health challenges, perform their theatre piece Eucaristía at Summerhall as part of Scotland's Human Rights Festival 2026.
Eucaristía is a theatre piece performed by BROTS (uTOpia Barcelona), a Catalan company of actors with lived experience of mental-health challenges, who use singing, shouting and acting to share their stories and confront the audience directly. The piece explores how religious and conservative values can shape society unnoticed and lead to suffering, and makes an artistic plea for mental-health care as a collective practice rather than individual therapy. Drawing on 16 years of collective practice, the makers share stories of liberation, mutual support and mental-health activism. The show runs about 70 minutes, is recommended for ages 16+, contains strobe lighting, and forms part of Scotland's Human Rights Festival 2026.
